BYU children’s fair

Saturday we went to the BYU children’s fair hosted by the multicultural student association for Black History month.  They had all kinds of booths with different information and games about different countries, famous Black people from history, plus fun stuff like face painting, dancing, and balloon animals.  There was also lots of snacks too.  We ended up getting there kind of late—I think it was close to 1:00 so I think we missed a lot of our playgroup friends because we didn’t see too many of them.

There was a little “underground railroad” activity that Liam did three or four times.  I didn’t get any pictures of him in it, but he kept going back for more.

P1000321Another thing he really liked was the drums.  He had fallen asleep on our way to Provo so he was a little groggy (translation: he was ornery!) and this was the thing that helped him get out of his funk, finally.  P1000323P1000327I loved that they were doing tribal face painting this year instead of just the normal face painting.  Jason did it in the hopes that we could convince Liam to do it too, but he did not want to.  P1000328Pretty cool, but he said it was itchy.P1000331The last thing we did was wait in a long line for balloon animals.  Liam chose a snake, both Em and Jason chose Dragonflies.  P1000340Liam was play fighting with this girl.  He had his balloon snake and she had a rubber chicken.  P1000342Here they all are with their animals.  Liam’s didn’t eve make it home before he pulled it apart and then he proceeded to pop the others after we got home.

It was a great event and I would encourage EVERYONE to attend next year!  The students do a great job of planning and making it fun and best of all its FREE!

Yet another reason why I want to go to Provo - fun free stuff! And friends! Boy that's a lot of Fs!

Love the pics - Jason is a good sport. And my James is a bear when he gets woken up from a nap, so I get that crankiness too!

Seems like a great day of family enjoyment.
