An Angry Birthday

Liam decided he wanted and Angry birds birthday party for his first ever friend party this year.  We had a lot of fun planning it and getting everything ready.  I searched the internet for the ever-ready ideas that it contains and was not disappointed.  For Decorations Em made a birthday banner on the computer and we made some angry birds balloons.  by using the printables found here.  P1010653Please ignore the ghetto shed in the pictures.  P1010654P1010655P1010656

P1010657We had the blue and white ones made too, but they popped before we could get them hung up.

I had my son Jason help me make an angry birds game for the party.  It was pretty fun and the kids seemed to love it. (Thanks for the materials Randi!)  They played for awhile and they had a lot of fun.  I tried to get a video, but then my card was full so I had Jason delete some pics for me and then take more of the party.  That didn’t work so well…somehow there was a miscommunication about what he was taking pictures of…I will say no more on that matter.  Here is the one I got before the party (there are NO pictures of any of the kids from the party—you don’t wanna know what he was taking pictures of).  P1010647we put a few water balloons on the contraption as the pigs and then let them take turns throwing the water balloons at it.  It was great fun.

Liam specifically requested cupcakes and I’m really glad he did especially after finding this tutorial for super simple angry birds cupcakes.  I found all the right color sprinkles for really inexpensive at Goodies here in town.  If you need decorating stuff they have tons of stuff there!  I think they turned out quite well if I do say so myself!P1010650I was surprised when the kids all really wanted pigs at the party instead of birds.  Especially when Liam wanted one because he gets really unhappy when those pigs laugh at him in the game.

After cake we had presents and it was sheer mayhem the whole time.  Everyone wanted him to open theirs.  I have no idea who brought what and some kids were opening the presents themselves.  You gotta love 4 year olds.  P1010723After the cupcakes were consumed some of the boys decided to start a water fight.  They started with my poor outnumbered niece so I tried to help her fight back, but it didn’t work super well.  They soon gave up on us and turned their fun to our neighbor, Ashton (she was there with her little brother) Thankfully she was a good sport about it and the boys had fun while it lasted.  P1010731We played a few playground games after that and then it was time to go home.  I had planned on giving everyone play balls with angry birds faces drawn on because just a few weeks ago they were everywhere.  Well, thanks to my last minute planning I had to call all over to find a store that still had them—and in the right colors too.  Thankfully I found one.  My awesome husband drove to Payson to pick them up for me and then Emily drew the faces for me.  I think they turned out cute.  As far as I know all the kids had fun and Liam was happy so I call it a success!
