On Wednesday Liam and I went to Thanksgiving Point Farm country with the Transracial Adoption playgroup we are part of. It was a little different this week because there were lots of families from Salt Lake as well as Utah county there. So, there were a lot of us. Unfortunately for me Liam was not in the mood to let me sit and visit with my friends from Salt Lake while he ate lunch and wanted to be on the move much sooner than everyone else. There were a couple people who came with us because their kids were impatient too.
First off, I have to say that I don’t love the smell at places like this. I know they are animals, but animals are really stinky! Plus, we saw some really gross stuff while we were there. (I’ll spare you the details) OK, so when I told Jason about them he just laughed at my naivety about animals and their lack of hygiene—I never lived on a farm or even did anything more than visit a farm in my life and I’d like to keep it that way. So, here goes—Liam had a lot of fun and I kept my feelings about the smelliness of animals to myself.
Checking out the bunnies (how are such cute fur balls so smelly??) with his little friend Zoe. I joke a lot because Liam is often the only boy at playgroup. So, with all the girls around it’s like he has his own little harem. When boys do come to playgroup he hardly knows what to do even though he plays with mostly boys other places.
Playing in the “dance hall” I really wanted a picture of them in the jail, but Liam seriously wouldn’t stand still for more than 10 seconds.
We were feeding this big horse and Liam kept laughing because it tickled when the horse used its lips to get the corn out of our hands. It freaked him out a little bit, but I think he liked it more than it scared him.

Liam loved this cow bench
Riding the pony. I was surprised how nervous Liam was. He’s a funny kid. He likes to act fearless, but he’s still just as nervous as any other kid. In fact, we had another ticket for him to ride again and he wouldn’t do it so we gave it to Zoe so she could go again she loved it.
Thanks to Alice for taking pictures for me and emailing them to me! You’re the best!

That was so much fun. Every time we get in the car now, Zoe asks if we can go to the farm. (She used to ask if we could go to Disneyland, so the farm must have been fun to replace it.) I still need to blog about this. Maybe I will just copy and paste your post :)
See, I need to live in Utah County. My kids would be besides themselves if they could go visit a "farm" - what fun! And I love your dirt digger. I've got a few of those myself. Even Henry gets in on it already. Sigh. Lots of mud in my future. But they are little boys and they are supposed to be dirty.
I don't remember the cow bench. I miss playgroup!
