Construction zone…that’s what our street has been for the past month or so. This
is what we’ve seen a lot of on our street lately. Liam was beside himself with happiness when they finally got in front of our house and I was happy to not have to walk down the street for him to watch the tractors, but be able to relax in my own yard. The pictures above were taken the day before they came and actually dug in our own front yard. Too bad we were gone all day that day, or Liam could have given them some free help…he’s an expert digger (see below).
Liam has been doing some of his own digging lately too--
this is a daily occurrence and if my tulips live to tell the tale it will be a miracle. Between this front “flower” bed (he dug up all the flowers long ago), the garden in the back yard and the dirt under the tree in our backyard Liam is constantly covered in dirt every. single. day. It’s actually not too bad as long as I remember to dust him off before going inside and he doesn’t get into his bed before I have a chance to change his diaper and get the dirt out. Otherwise he gets nice little piles of dirt in his bed when he naps. But hey, it keeps him happy, entertained, and mostly out of trouble so I can’t complain too much—although I might be singing a different tune once we get it all mulched—including the “organic” matter that feeds the soil…then I’ll have to put a stop to the digging for awhile I think.
What excitement do you have going on in your neighborhood?

Here at our zoo, they sell com'poo'st from the elephants. So it could be worse :)! Hope the street is finished soon.
I drove by the other day and saw that craziness. I though it was bad when they were working on ours and closed it for a day. I guess I shouldn't have complained.
