Yesterday morning at 11 am they announced the new first presidency. We knew already who would be the Prophet--something that I'm very grateful for. It's nice to know that there isn't any politics or jockeying for position--that the Lord has it all planned out and that gives me great comfort. President Monson called Henry B. Eyring as his first counselor and Deiter F. Uchtdorf as his second counselor. I like this picture of them all smiling and seeming to have a good time. I was surprised at the questions asked by the media after President Monson's official announcement. Mostly I was surprised by the simplicity of most of the questions and no one really asked anything too uncomfortable. I'm glad for that. I loved President Uchtdorf's comment that they aren't representatives of any certain culture or people, they are representatives of Christ and his church. That to me says it all. I look forward to getting to know these great men better through their service to the church and its members. I can't wait for conference! I've always loved the speaking styles of all three of these men so it will be wonderful to hear them and also to see who is called to fill the empty seat in the quorum of the twelve. :)
Have a fabulous day!
