Not a real Utahn
Although I've lived here in Utah for longer than I've lived anywhere else in my life I am realizing that I'm not a TRUE Utahn. How do I know this? you ask. Well...the biggest reason is that I don't particularly love the snow, but the next biggest reason is that I need it to be at least 75 degrees before I feel comfortable wearing shorts and sandals. True Utahns on the other hand will wear these as soon as it hits about 45 degrees...yep, 45. Apparently my children are true Utahns because yesterday and today they broke out their shorts and capris and wouldn't listen to a word I said when I told them it wasn't warm enough outside for them to wear these summer clothes to school. I thought for sure they'd come home to tell me that I was right and they were cold at recess, but nope it didn't happen. I thought maybe my children were the crazy ones, but as I drove to the library this afternoon to return some books I saw numerous people of ALL age groups dressed in shorts and/or sandals and as of right now it's 48 degrees. WAY too cold in my opinion for these summer things. So, I'll keep on my jeans and long sleeved shirts and simply be amused by all the true Utahns who have decided that it must be summer since it isn't freezing anymore.

That is so funny. My kids do the same thing. They were running around outside today without socks and shoes because it was so "warm". And when they come home from school, John turns on the air conditioner or has to roll down the windows because it is so hot.
RIDICULOUS!
I'm with you Jen. It was 62 here yesterday and I was still wearing long sleeves and jeans. No shorts or capris for me for months, thanks. Too cold.
This is why I loved SoCal - the weather really was nice enough to wear capris and flip flops year round.
