On the back burner

I'm sure you can tell that my blogging has gotten pushed to the back burner of my life right now.  For some reason I just haven't had time to blog much. (I know you all must be devastated)  It's funny too that even though I'm not really making anything for gifts this year I still feel so busy!

I'm happy to say that I'm finally done shopping and can now focus on wrapping.  That'll be fun.  ;)  What else is keeping me busy??  Exercising, reading, cleaning, cooking, laundry, diaper changing, etc.  Just the normal every day stuff, but somehow it seems like a lot right now.

I just finished reading this book called Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver.  It was totally not my normal kind of book, but I really got into it.  It did get a little long and redundant towards the end but it opened my eyes to so many things.  I hope this next year I'll be able to take my gardening more seriously and that I'll be able to find more local farms and other local places to buy our food from.  I even attempted making cheese tonight, but it was a flop.  DO NOT make it with only the directions in the above mentioned book.  They aren't clear enough at all for someone who's never done it before, but if you check out the website www.cheesemaking.com then you'll get some good directions.  I will let you know if I'm ever successful.  I plan on trying again next week sometime.

Have a great day!

One of my very favorite books is the Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. The writing is amazing.

You made cheese? Even if it didn't work out, I'm still very impressed.

Merry Christmas.

Cissy--well...I ATTEMPTED to make cheese...it's actually not too hard at least it doesn't sound too hard now that I have more accurate directions. I'm planning on trying again and if it's ever successful I'll be sure to blog it. Have you read the book animal vegetable miracle?? I'd be interested in what you though of it if you have and if you haven't you should read it. ;) Merry Christmas!
