This is going to end up being a post full of requests for ideas from you wonderful blog readers. I know you'll come through for me. :)
First request: Can you share some ideas you use to help your family stay focused on Christ during Christmas? Any fun activities, books, movies, or anything else you do as a family? Any great ideas for 12 days of Christmas? I was thinking of doing it this year, but not sure how to do it.
Second request: This one is also family related, but not Christmas related. I'm looking for good games to play as a family. I would like games that my 10 year olds can play without much help, but that are interesting enough to keep mom and dad having fun too. What games does your family love to play? (Diana P. I hope you answer this one because I know you guys love games!)
Third request: Please share your favorite Christmas books, movies and cd's. I'm always looking to increase our collections and I need some recommendations.
I can't wait to read all of your wonderful ideas! I always love your comments especially when I know you all have such awesome ideas to share!

It's too long to explain here, but come to my blog and read my post about Advent candles and the Jesse Tree. That's what we're doing to stay focused on Christ.
Hey, so all month I will be posting about my favorite Christmas books so check those out. In a few days I will be sharing a new "Christ-centered" tradition we are starting so check that out. As for games we love games at our house. One of our favorites is Settlers of Zarahemla. It is similar to Settlers or Cataan but with a BOM twist. You can buy it at Deseret Book for $40 which is a little high for a game but we all love it. We also like Blokus, Upwords, Speed Scrabble, and Rummikub. We have many games Jason and I like but those are the ones we all play together well. Hope that helps.
Okay here are some game ideas: Jamaica, Hoity Toity, Niagara, Cloud 9. Those are a few that I think would be good for the fam. I have no great ideas for your other questions. Sorry.
I'm just going to blog about it Jen!
Two websites that I look to for ideas are sugardoodle.net and tipjunkie.blogspot.com. Maybe you can find something there. Our family does holiday BINGO. I make BINGO cards on my computer and do words that go with the theme. Because Madison can't read yet, I put pictures instead.
Seeing our three nativity sets around reminds me to tell and re-tell the true story. I am hoping to make (probably buy) a kid friendly nativity specifically for the playroom. Also, we keep Christmas music--a lot of it religious--playing almost all day.
Games: Matthew and I play Quiddler, his very favorite.
Books: "The Night Before Christmas" is a favorite classic at our house; this year I'm buying "Santa's First Flight" by Sam Beeson ...clever with a good message.
Hope you and your enjoy the season. (Let's play.)
