This is what is happening multiple times an hour now that our tree is put up. I bought some shatterproof (plastic) ornaments so he can't hurt himself, but I'm hoping it isn't too unrealistic to hope that I can teach him to leave the tree alone. Have any of you had any luck teaching little ones to keep out of the Christmas decorations? I've had to leave a lot of mine put away this year because I'm not willing on risking them being broken while I figure out how to keep Liam out of them and I just don't have any high up places to put them. So, I'm hoping he learns quick! :)

Oh boy, good luck with that. I don't remember what we did when Carter was a baby. So it must have worked okay. When Ryan was that age we had a small fake tree up on a card table. We made him a laminated paper tree with velcro ornaments to move around so he would be less tempted to touch the big tree. It kind of worked.
You already have your tree up? I'm impressed. We generally don't decorate the bottom two feet of our tree, but I'm still not looking forward to fighting off Nate the super-climber
It is honestly hopeless for that age to leave the tree alone. We've had many a broken ornaments from our own kids and other kids.
I don't think I've ever really tried to teach them to stay out of the tree. I just make sure the breakables are high enough that they can't reach.
