Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween.  The kids had fun planning and "making" their costumes.  Emily planned on being a baby and then the day before decided she wanted to do something else because she was worried people at school would make fun of her.  So, for school she was a hula girl and then for Trick or Treating she was a baby.  IMG_2263 Here she is at the school costume parade with two of her good friends from school.  They are all so cute!

Jason dressed up as a nerd... and he did a good job with his costume.  I put a kick me sign on his back before school and apparently a lot of people took advantage of it and chased him to try to kick him.  ;)  Here he is doing his "nerd walk"IMG_2264 at the school costume parade.  After the parade they had their parties.  I did a game for the whole 5th grade to go through in small groups.  All the kids seemed to like the game which was a relief to me since it seems so much harder to find games that are fun to them the older they get.  :)

The kids rested up in the afternoon for trick or treating.  Then while Dad went to get us some dinner we headed over to the house in town that gives out krispy kreme donuts.  There was actually a LINE at this house and the kids waited for probably 10-15 min in line to get their dozen donuts.  Then they trick or treated the other houses in the cul-de-sac and we headed home for dinner.  After dinner we went to the trunk or treat and then we went IMG_2271to Grandma and Grandpa's for the annual trick or treating with Grandpa.

Em and Jason have been doing this with their Grandpa since they were about 2 years old.  They love it and I'm sure will miss it once they are too old to trick or treat.  Liam was a mouse.  IMG_2277 Liam and I went to a few houses with them to trick or treat and then we headed back inside.  I couldn't believe how nice it was outside on Halloween.  Usually we are freezing and/or wet but this year it was gorgeous!  So, that was our fun this Halloween.  Hope you had a great one too!

Looks like fun. What a great tradition. I wish someone else would take my kids trick or treating! Oh wait, Rob did. I got to stay home and clean. It was a nice break...except the doorbell kept ringing.
