Friday we headed up to White pass to stay at Camp Zarahemla for the night. On the way there we stopped in Yakima at Miners burgers to eat. The kids were really impressed with the size of their burgers. We all shared burgers although
Jason swore he could have eaten one all on his own.
My kids with their cousin Ronnie—he’s a fireball of fun!
Liam found Ronnie’s hat (we were driving Kathi’s van) and put it on—he wears it well if I do say so myself. I was actually surprised how well the kids did in the car after the drive to WA the day before. A little room goes a long way I guess.
The loft in one of the cabins.
We were gathering firewood and Ronnie found this branch that looked like antlers so we had to take a picture.
The boys “posing” for a cool picture.
My awesome Dad playing the guitar as we all sat around the campfire. I miss listening to him play guitar and my Mom singing—it’s the best.
Mom enjoying the campfire and trying to keep warm while doling out the s’mores.
Liam trying to keep warm on my lap by the fire. We were roasting on the side by the fire and freezing on the other side.
Jason sharpening his roasting stick.
All the kids on the porch of one of the cabins Saturday afternoon. It was a gorgeous place. I did my farthest run-to date while we were up there and it was so beautiful! I saw several deer while running too which was fun, but they ran away when they heard my stomping feet coming.
After I got back from running we went on the lake with the canoes. It was a blast. This is Jason and Ronnie.
This is Em in the front and me in the back with Liam sitting in front of me. We didn’t want to leave and probably would have stayed another night if we had been prepared to.
A sign by the playground/ropes course.
The sign as you drive into the camp. Liam wasn’t in the mood for pictures and somehow we didn’t get one of my parents on my camera. I’m hoping they have one on their camera.
It was a beautiful clear day when we left so we decided to go take a look at Mt. Rainier
It was beautiful despite my poor photography skills.
Proof we were there—but my battery was dying.
Ronnie REALLY wanted to find some snow to play in so we stopped at the White pass Ski resort and he and Jason had fun in the (filthy) snow. There were people coming down that had snow shoed up the mountain just so they could ski down—that’s a dedicated skier.
It was a blast and I’m so glad we were able to go up there. Thanks for taking us Mom and Dad!
