I swear I don't know how anyone has ever believed that babies don't understand what's going on around them. The things that Liam figures out just through observation are still amazing to me sometimes. Like when my friend was watching him while I was getting my hair cut and she was in the bathroom doing her daughter's hair. Liam was behind her shower curtain playing peek a boo and her daughter said she thought Liam was going to turn on the water. Tami didn't think he could (I didn't think he could either) then just a minute later they hear the water turn on. Who'd have thought that he had any idea that if you turned that knob water would come... Thankfully our knobs are hard enough to turn that he can't get them on yet. :)

This is another example of Liam's smarts. He got my keys when I put them down to get my shoes on and immediately toddled over to the door where he tried to put the key into the door knob--granted he's on the wrong side for the key, but just the fact that he knows where the key goes amazes me! He also knows that the doorknob opens the door. He already stands at a closed door and will try to reach up and turn the knob. Thankfully he can't turn it yet, but I swear he's gonna be opening doors WAY before the twins were...

Jason was playing his electronic chess game last night and Liam wanted a turn. He was happily pushing all sorts of buttons and loving the beeping noises he heard. He also loves to play with the cordless phone and often turns on speakerphone or pushes talk. So far he hasn't called anyone, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
There you go, my super adorable and smart little guy--
