Last weekend some of my friends and I went to Vegas. I've driven through, but never really done anything there. Our original intention of going down was to go to a show, but we were so busy doing other fun stuff that we never actually went to a show. We still had a blast and laughed all weekend. I seriously was in pain on the car ride home because we just kept laughing and laughing and my face and my stomach were aching from so much laughter!! It was a blast!
This is on the big rocking chair in Beaver. Yep, we all fit on it.
When we got there we decided to go swimming since it was nice and warm. This is our group shot. I put this one in because Tami says I look like a posed barbie in it. I think I kind of agree... and I think it's pretty funny that I look like that.
After swimming we went to the strip to get dinner. We ate at Margaritaville and while we were waiting for our table these guys on stilts came in so we had to get a picture with them of course. :) The food there was really good and it was a fun atmosphere.
The most impressive thing was Monica's nachos (which were from the appetizer menu) Can you tell we are in the USA where everything is jumbo sized??
After dinner we headed over to the Bellagio because I really wanted to see the fountains. I had seen a show about how they built them a long time ago and have always wanted to see them. They were really impressive. I got some video of it but I'm trying a new thing to write this blog entry and I don't know how to put the video on. I'll figure it out though and do it later. Here's a kinda cook picture for now instead
After that we went to the Paris to go up to the top of the "Eiffel Tower" (a replica they made) You had to pay an obscene amount of money just to ride the elevator and see the view and then wait in line to ride the elevator back down. This is one thing I would recommend you DON'T waste your money on. ;)
Then we finally went back to the condo to go to bed. We slept in nice and late and then we went back to the pool. It was SOOOO nice and warm and it felt so good to not be cold!! We got some inner tubes and floated in the lazy river again and it felt much better with the sun shining down since the water was so cold. Time really flew and before we knew it we had spent half the day at the pool. So, we went and got ourselves all ready (which was quite a time consuming feat having 5 women to get ready). Once we were all ready we headed to the mall for shopping. No trip is complete without shopping. The mall was huge and we didn't even see a fraction of it. Then we were starving so we went over to Caesars' palace to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. I've never
eaten there before and I LOVED it! I wish there were one closer to me, although it's probably good that there isn't one too close. After dinner there was a little show in the fountain outside. It was kinda cool. But, the best part of it all was FAO Schwartz...it's a toy store and it was SOOOO much fun to be in!! This is the trojan horse at the front of the store.
We were in there for over 2 hours there was just so much fun/cool stuff to look at. If you remember the movie "Big" with Tom Hanks it's the same toy store where he plays the big piano with his feet except that one is in NYC. They even had a big piano that I had a blast playing. :) We were in the store until midnight when it closed. That's how much fun we had. :) Everyone found cool stuff to get for their kids. I got a Gyro wheel and Jason has been playing with it nonstop. I got Em a kazoo (the metal kind). They had all sorts of cool toys that you just don't see other places.
After shopping we realized that we'd better hurry over to the Stratosphere because we wanted to do the Big shot ride there and Felicia said that it's better at night. It was cool and tons of fun even though when you are getting ready to ride it you keep wondering what on earth you are thinking doing this crazy ride that shoots you 40 feet up so that you are over 1,100 feet above the strip. Tami didn't go with us because
she had been so scared on the "Eiffel Tower" the night before. Here's a cute picture of all of us after the ride but before we went down. Do you think we were done for the night yet?? NOPE! We drove to find Freemont street. It was cool looking, but some of us were too chicken to walk it in the middle of the night so we just stayed in the car and looked. That was cool to see and next time we'll have to get there before it's so late that we don't feel safe. On the way home we saw a Henna tattoo place was still open and Tami wanted one so we stopped.
It took a long time and by the time we got home and were going to bed it was 4 am in LV and we were all TIRED!
The last day we slept as long as we could and still be able to get checked out by noon. It wasn't nearly long enough for me. I'm still feeling the effects of so many late nights in a row. :) We spent the last day shopping again at the outlet mall (although it seemed pretty much like a normal mall to me.) Tami was excited to find a Dunkin Donuts store there. We had all been eating popsicles and before we went in the mall Tami wanted a hat picture with Felicia (they were both wearing hats they'd bought). I liked this one the best...it has character. ;) After we dragged ourselves out of the mall some of us decided on a whim that they wanted to do big shot again and Tami wanted to try it too. A couple of us passed on a second ride even though the first was fun. Then we headed home. We didn't get home until around 1 am so had three LAAAATE nights in a row. I think maybe by this time next week I might be recovered. I guess I'm too old to be such a party animal. Thanks girls for the FUN time!
