Recently Liam has mastered getting up and down stairs. That, combined with the fact that our older kids were too often banging the gate in such a way that it marked the wall and banister it was attached to, we decided to take the gate down. Now that the novelty of actually going up and down the stairs has worn off for him he had to find a new way to enjoy the stairs. It all started with a piece of cardboard. He threw it down the stairs and watched it slide. Once it got to the bottom he said, "Uh-Oh". This is now his new favorite game to play. He will find pretty much anything he can get his little hands on and chuck it down the stairs, watch/listen to it until it gets to the bottom and then say, "Uh-Oh" in a very innocent voice. Some things that have made the trip down the stairs: Various toys of his, books, shoes, clothes, cups, bottles, boxes of all kinds, the kitchen garbage can (thankfully it was empty except for the baking soda in the bottom to keep the smells at bay), a picture frame from the entry table, and probably lots more I don't even know about. Thankfully he hasn't attempted to get a ride himself down the stairs (yet). So far he hasn't broken anything by doing this or made any marks in the walls, but I'm sure our luck on that will run out soon if he doesn't lose interest in this oh, so fun game of his. (I'm sure it doesn't help that probably half the time we laugh when he does it)
Thanks for keeping us entertained Liam. I will attempt to capture a picture of him doing it and if/when I do I'll be sure to post it.

Mason LOVES to throw stuff downstairs, too! We still have to have a gate up, but he can manage to toss it over the top. If you can't find something, look on the stairs!
