Happy New Year!

I am rather surprised at myself for waking up as early as I did after our family festivities last night to ring in the new year.  We put Liam to bed at his usual time and then we finished up our game of colosseum...you might wonder why it's taken us so long to finish it...and I'll tell you that it's because we can't really play when Liam is awake so we waited until he went to bed and then only had a short time before the twins had to go to bed so it has taken us several days to finish.  If we sat down and played through I'm sure it'd only be an hour or so.  It was a fun game and I'm glad we have it.  It helped that I WON!  The whole time I could tell my husband had something up his sleeve, and at the end he thought he had won, but I was just as resourceful and beat him by one!  Yippee!!  It's not too often that I win so that was a fun bonus.

After my awesome victory I made some queso dip and we had a snack before starting the movie that we rented.  Jason Jr picked Journey to the center of the earth and it wasn't too bad.  He loved it, but it was just okay for me.  Half way through their friends from across the street invited them to come do some sparklers so we went out in the FREEZING cold and did them.  Thankfully it didn't take too long.  Once the movie was over we still had an hour to kill so J played his nintendo ds and E read for awhile while I flipped channels watching all the different New Years Eve stuff on the different channels.  We watched the ball drop and Em's comment was, "That's it? doesn't it do anything else?"  Then we toasted the new year with some sparkling cider, watched a daredevil jump the volcano at the mirage in Vegas and then went to bed.

I hope you had a great new years eve.  Stay tuned for my resolutions (I decided to try to actually make some this year) because I know you are dying to know all my weaknesses.  ;)

Happy New Year!

We all said the same thing after the ball dropped. No excitement at all. For that much money you think it would be more entertaining.
