Tuesday we woke up bright and early to use our “magic morning” pass where we get into the park one hour before it opens. It was a good thing we went early too so we could get some rides in before the rain hit.
Jason wanted to do Space mountain first so I went with him while Em and Liam went with Daddy. We were on the first car of the day. This is the picture of us they took and then I took a picture of it so it isn’t great…but can’t you tell we’re having fun? After this we went on Astro blasters and then we met up with the rest of the family. Liam wanted to go on the carousel
Em happily took him on it. I don’t think I have any pictures of it, but Liam constantly wanted to go on the Pinocchio ride. I think it was partly because all of the recycling cans have a picture of jiminy cricket on them and that reminded him of the ride.
Soon after this it started raining and rained HARD for about 30 minutes so we busted out the ponchos I bought at the dollar store before we left—they were flimsy and didn’t really cover your arms at all, but they were better than nothing. During the rain we went on Winnie the Pooh while the boys went on splash mountain…I think we got just as wet as they did. Grandma had asked for a picture with Mickey Mouse so we headed to Toon Town to see if Mickey was home. We were still wearing our ponchos because it was supposed to start raining again. Once I finally decided to take my poncho off because I thought I was safe, it started raining again and I put it back on. At least it doesn’t matter how wet you get on splash mountain when you are already soaked. Here’s another picture of a picture—this time the kids and I on splash mountain.
After this it rained hard for the rest of the day. A bonus of the rain was that there were NO lines for anything. While Jason and the kids were in Star Tours I decided to take Liam into the Innoventions building. I’d never been in there before and didn’t know what to expect, but it was inside and we were cold and wet and just wanted to be warm and dry for a little while. There was some cool stuff in there, but Liam just really wanted to play rock band. Once the kids and Daddy caught up with us they played rockband and made me sing…there were tons of other people in there getting out of the rain so it was kinda embarrassing for me. Sadly, while we were in Innoventions my camera was in the stroller being soaked and ruined so the picture above is the last one of it’s life. We hoped we could resurrect it, but we had no luck. Thankfully I had thought to tell Em to bring my old camera in case she wanted to take pictures. All we had to do was buy overpriced batteries at the hotel gift shop and it was up and running, but it’s old, slow, and has the same megapixels as Jason’s Iphone so the rest of our pictures aren’t that great. I did ask Jason’s brothers that were there with us to take pictures too so hopefully they will have some good ones for us to use too. I was VERY sad at the loss of my camera and I’m even more sad to have to try to figure out what new one to buy…I know what I WISH I could buy (a DSLR), but it’s gonna have to wait I think because it isn’t a priority and because this is so unexpected.
We called it a day early because we were all so cold and wet. The evening was spent warming up and resting up.
