Liam’s Birthday

Liam’s birthday was the day before school started for the twins so we had a lot of extra stuff to do before their big day, but Liam still got lots of attention and I’m pretty sure he had an awesome day.  He started off bright and early opening his presents from us.  IMG_1504 I think he might be a little happy and excited… about his bike (the one thing he’s been asking for –for months)IMG_1507 Opening his fridge gears that I’m taking back because they keep falling apart—IMG_1508 IMG_1509 Trying to he his “mow lawner” out of the box so he can use it.  IMG_1512 riding his new bike.  I think he’s almost got the hang of it now, but so far he hasn’t lasted too long riding it.

The rest of the day was spent getting hair cuts for the twins, picking up Em’s fair entries and making Liam’s cake for the family shindig at the park after dinner.

IMG_1514 Liam really liked his cake and just this morning asked  me if I was going to make his train cake again next year when it was his birthday again.  IMG_1521 Emily was a big helper for me and had lots of great ideas and I couldn’t believe she made it the whole time helping me—it was a good 3 hours at least.  I was happy with the end result except for the fact that the engine wouldn’t stop tipping to the right and I wish the caboose turned out better and didn’t taste sick from all the red coloring used.  :)  Jason Jr. seemed pretty surprised that it actually looked like a train—which I thought was pretty funny.

Liam wanted Carl’s Jr for dinner so we did that and then headed to  the park for his “party”.  When he wasn’t eating cake or opening presents Liam was at the playground acting like he owned the place.  IMG_1523 Even though we practiced blowing out his candles he didn’t quite get it.  Good thing Dad and brother were there to help.  IMG_1537 IMG_1542The cake actually tasted really good too!  IMG_1544 I love little kid parties where every kid has to be right there with the present opening.  I was glad Liam didn’t mind.IMG_1546 IMG_1549 IMG_1553 The Handy Manny tools are easily Liam’s favorite—he hasn’t stopped playing with them when we are home.  IMG_1557

I seriously can’t believe my baby is THREE!  I swear time keeps speeding up more and more.  He’s such a joy to have in our family and I am  forever grateful  to his birth mom for choosing life for him and for choosing us as his adoptive family.  I don’t know what we’d do without him.
