For our playgroup last Friday we went to Farm Country at Thanksgiving point. Liam loved it and we had a great time with his little friends. I laugh when we go to playgroup though because it's usually Liam and then a bunch of little girls. Rarely do boys come. I'm glad he doesn't care yet.
We started by the horses and cows. This one let Liam pet it and that made Liam smile.
Next we went on the pony ride. Liam didn't know what to think at first. Before we got on he was excited, but when we actually walked up to get on the horse he didn't like it much. I had him pet the horse and then he let me put him on. I think he liked it when the pony started walking, but was still a little nervous. About half way through he told me he was "ready to get down", but we stuck it out and it was fun for me to watch.
After the pony ride we fed the ducks and then we went on a "hay" ride. Liam liked it, but wasn't overly impressed once we got going. He liked that a tractor was pulling us though.
After the hay ride we were looking at these big horses and Liam wanted to feed them. Stacy had some corn from one of the feed machines so I helped Liam hold his hand flat so that the horse could eat from it. I guess the first time he did it he made a great face for a picture so my friend Kristin tried to capture it the second time. You can see that he's laughing if you enlarge the picture. He did it about four times before we ran out of corn. I'm glad he's so brave.
Next up were the turkeys...Liam thought they were "funny".
I was a little worried this goat would bite him, but he didn't give Liam a second look.
By the end all the moms were tired and it might have been nice to actually lock these kids in here...they had fun running around in this little jailhouse.
It's so much fun to see little ones discovering and learning to understand their world.

One of these days, in at least 10 years, he'll LOVE being the only boy. I've only been to the dinosaur park at Thanksgiving Point. It seems like there is a lot more to it than that.
Such a fun day. Liam cracks me up. I wish I had been able to catch the pure look of joy the first time he fed the horse.
