We got home so late on Friday night and we were all so tired that we slept in...until Dad came to ask us to go to the church and help Mom with her Primary activity. She was all alone because one counselor had a family thing going on and the other one had a sick baby and her husband was out of town...so we headed to the church to help her out. She did a great job and the kids had a ton of fun...no pics because I literally got out of bed, put on Friday's clothes and headed to the church...no one knew me really so I hoped I was okay. We rushed home to get ourselves showered and presentable so we could head off to my cousin Julie's baby shower. It was great. Good food, good company, no crazy games, and lots of little girl cuteness to oooh and aaah about. I didn't bring my camera, but I know pictures were taken for Julie. I just haven't had the time or energy to find out who has them. Saturday night we built a fire in the fire pit in the back yard and made tin foil dinners and s'mores--it was delicious. Jason had a blast being in charge of keeping the fire going and being the cook for our tin foil dinners. The kids (meaning my Dad) pitched a tent and slept in it for the night. Em keeps telling people it's the closest she'll get to camping until she goes to girls camp next year...she's probably right. They loved it and did it again Sunday night.
Sunday was church, family, visiting. I did see a couple old friends at church and visited while we were there. That was nice. Sunday is much more relaxing when you are on vacation and don't have meetings and all of that. We had a great discussion late into the night with my parents and my sisters. I love those late night conversations.
Monday we started packing and getting ready to leave on Tues. Then in the afternoon Kathi came and got Emily to take her to lunch and then out shopping because we'd made her stay home when we went earlier in the week. Carolyn and I met up with them at the mall and brought Jason and Mike with us. The boys took off and we girls shopped for awhile. Then we headed home to get dinner ready to take over to my Grandparents house. They are moving down to AZ permanently so it's going to be harder to see them now. Usually we see them either coming or going from AZ and then when we visit in the summer, but now we won't have either one. It'll be interesting. They sold their house in WA after only a month on the market. So, we had dinner over there and visited and enjoyed seeing them and then we went home to finish up packing the car and getting everything ready to go in the morning. That was our trip.
I was bummed we never made it to swim in the river--that's something we usually do and the kids love it. I also wish we could have gone real camping, but there just wasn't time. It's funny to say that when we were there for so long, but we were busy each day with something happening so at least we didn't get bored and we didn't have any dust storms while we were there either! Sorry no pictures this post, and if you've made it this far into my boring travel log kudos to you!

oh. i made it and i actually enjoyed it. sounds like a great vacation!!!!! i want one of those. glad you kept up on it. glad you had fun. i'm assuming you are still there, right? if so, travel safely home.
Sounds like a fun trip - wish we could have made it over there to see you guys but I've got no AC in my car and I'm VERY pregnant - a little foot or tushie or something seems to be permanently lodged in my ribcage - not comfortable for sitting for long stretches.
We should do a transracial campout sometime. We love to camp.
