Playgroup

Every Friday we attend a playgroup for Transracial adoption.  This means that anyone who has adopted children that are a race other than theirs is welcome.  I was excited to find a group like this when we adopted Liam, but the only playgroup was in Salt Lake at the time and I couldn't attend because I wouldn't be home in time for the twins to get out of school.  So, I started asking around and talking to people and gathering emails etc. and with my friend Denise's help and encouragement we just picked a day and started meeting.  At first it was pretty small and there are some weeks it is still a small gathering, but I have loved getting to know so many wonderful people through this group.  This past week we met at a park and had a big turnout so we decided to torture the kids by making them sit still long enough for a picture.  What an adventure that was.  This is the best one I got.  IMG_4001   The best part of playgroup this week was that there were LOTS of boys there!  Usually Liam is the only boy or sometimes if we are lucky one of two boys, but there were bunches this past week and it was fun to see them interacting with each other.  IMG_4004 At one point Jason had all the little boys playing chase with him and they were ALL having a ball.  It was so fun and cute to watch!  Thanks to everyone who came!  I hope to see all of you again soon.

why are there 3 moms and 20 kids? That was a lot of kids. What a great group. And leave it to you to get that going.
You're great at that stuff.

Well, we were initially trying to get just kids, but some of the smaller ones didn't want to sit unless their mom held them so a few moms hopped in to help the little kids.
