Fun in Washington/Oregon, part 3

Thursday we headed over to my Aunt LaRae's house.  She's the best.  She invited all her kids too so we could see them all at the same time.  It was crazy with lots of little ones running around, but it was still fun.  I was a slacker and didn't take pictures, but kids played, adults caught up, food was eaten, and it was a great time.  Thanks for having us LaRae!

On the way back to my parents' house we picked up Kathi, Ronnie, and Carolyn.  Then once we were all packed into the car with all our stuff (minus all the things I forgot) we headed to Portland to see Barrett, Carolyn's son that she placed for adoption 6 years ago and his adoptive family.  I have to say that I was not thrilled about driving another 7+ hours round trip, but I'm happy we went with her.  It was fun and interesting to be on the birth-family side of adoption instead of the adoptive family side that we are normally on.  Debbie was so friendly and easy to talk to it was great to get to know her.  Cortney was so nice to Emily and is one beautiful girl.  Barrett was hilarious with all his energy and he and Ronnie were quite the pair the whole time we were there.  It was great.  Thanks for sharing this with us, Carolyn.

Once we got to the hotel we got some dinner and then we headed down to the pool.  The kids had a blast, but it was pretty dark in there so there aren't too many good pictures, but here are a few.  IMG_3790 Liam getting used to the water

After swimming far to late we headed up to bed then slept as late as we could and still be able to make it to their breakfast before it ended at 9:00 am.

Friday we headed to Oaks amusement park in Portland.  It was a cute place that's been around for awhile, but it didn't seem rundown or anything.  It wasn't huge, but it was the perfect size to spend the day and had fun stuff for all the different ages we were trying to entertain.  I won't narrate too much, but here are some fun pictures from the park.

Em, Jason, Carolyn, and Kathi also went roller skating while we were there.  I didn't get pictures of the kids though and I didn't think Kathi would want her bum pictures on my blog so there's my gift to you sis!  We also all went on the go-karts, but the pictures are all so far away it's hard to tell what they are so I spared you those too since I'm sure you are sick of looking at pictures by now anyway.

On the way home my sisters and I managed to get to Vancouver before we realized we were going the wrong way...so we turned around and found our way to the right highway to take us home.  We stopped at the Dalles to eat a late dinner at Cousins and Liam loved this horse: IMG_3910

It was a great trip!  Thanks again for sharing with us Carolyn!

Home of the Muddy Kids

I'm glad you had a good time in spite of the long drive. Sounds like the kids did fine and that you all had a blast.

Cute swimsuit, by the way! Where did you find it?! I totally want to copy you! (o:

Tara

jen, you look so cute in these photos. I like your curly hair!

Jen

Kristi- I got the suit at Kohls and Jim and Jen are back here in UT too now. Jim was only there for a couple days and he's not great at letting people know his plans.

Tara--thanks for the compliment!
