Bookworm

I have always been open and honest about my love of books. I am a self-proclaimed bookworm. I'm sure lots of you already know about this website, but I just found out about it and I thought it was pretty cool. It's www.goodreads.com you make a profile and rate books you have read and you can see what other people are reading. It'll use your email address book to show you who is already on it that you know from their email addresses. I've had a lot of fun just putting a few of the books I've read in and seeing what the few people I know who are on it already have read/been reading. So, if you want to join me just go to the above website and make a profile and add me as your friend! I hope to see you there because I'm always looking for new books to read. Although I have to warn you that I have a love for children's literature so many of my books come from that genre, but I read lots of other stuff too and I'm always willing to try a new author/series/book. Build a Bear workshop

Emily has been asking to go for a long time and I finally broke down and she got a gift card for Christmas. She was so thrilled to be able to go and pick out whatever she wanted and of course we had to go the day after Christmas becuase she just couldn't wait one more minute. Unfortunately everyone else went that day too and so it took a lot longer than it would normally have, but it was good mother daughter bonding time. I had such a fun time watching her pick everything out.

She chose a tabby cat and made it say "I love you"








She warmed her cat's heart and gave it a kiss before they put it in.







She loved picking out the clothes and dressing her cat. She can't wait until she can go back and get Cassy more clothes.

It was such a great time and I hope she remembers it for a very long time.

Christmas FUN!

Christmas is such a magical day. I remember it with much fondness from my childhood. I hope my kids have as wonderful memories of Christmas as I did. I have so much fun getting ready, but it never lasts long enough for me. I always wish it would last a little longer. Here are a few pictures of the kids opening gifts. Emily's favorite was her gift card for Build a Bear workshop. Jason liked all of his gifts he couldn't make up his mind what his favorite was. Liam loved his exersaucer. I'll share pics soon of Emily's fun at Build a Bear! Hope you had a great Christmas too!

Weekend before Christmas

The weekend before Christmas was our big busy weekend. Em and Jason were going to spend the night with grandparents so mom and dad could go to Dad's work Christmas dinner in Salt Lake. It ended up being a weekend of sickness and canceled plans. First Jason got the stomach flu on Wed. We thought he was over it, by Friday and sent him to grandpa's house anyway. But he wasn't quite over it so he was pretty lazy all weekend. We were all ready and drove to the work Christmas party that was to be held at dh's boss' house only to find the house dark. We thought we had the address wrong so he called his boss only to learn that the party had been canceled because of a family illness, but since dh hadn't checked his work email he didn't get the message. So, that night's plans were a bust. Liam came down with a cold that night and so none of us got much sleep.

Saturday was the annual Nash family Christmas party where we get together with all of dh's mom's family and celebrate. It was a lot of fun while we were there, but we had to leave early because Jason (who had come with grandma and grandpa and assured them he was better) still wasn't feeling great so we left early to get him home and try to get him feeling better.

Sunday was our ward Christmas program and since Emily and I are in the ward Choir we had to be there. I was also asked to sing in a quartet so dh stayed home to care for the two sick boys so Em and I could perform. Emily just loves singing in the choir. I remember doing it when I was her age too...but my mom was the choir director. ;)

Monday--Christmas eve Jason was feeling better for real this time so we went to the in laws for present opening. It was in the afternoon instead of the evening to accommodate everyone's schedules with other family parties. The kids had a great time and loved playing with cousins and opening presents. Unfortunately Liam was still sick with a cold though so he wasn't too cheerful. He mostly slept. We got home and they opened their Christmas pj's, we watched Elf and then they went to bed so Christmas could come!

Milestones

Liam has hit quite a few milestones lately. He grabbed his first








toy, held his own bottle, got his
first cold, and had his first Christmas.

Growing up already

What is it about kids that when you want them to slow down their "growing up" they seem to speed up instead??

Liam is already trying to hold his own bottles. Not every time he eats, but more and more. It's exciting, but kinda sad at the same time because I just want him to stay little!

We've got a court date!

I wasn't expecting this phone call until the beginning of January. This morning our lawyer's assistant called to tell us when our court date is to finalize Liam's adoption. It's not until the very last day of Feb. which this year is leap day! There you go Jason...we may not be able to have a baby on leap day, but we can finalize an adoption on that day! This is so exciting to me even though it's still two months away...now we can plan our sealing dates and all of that too. I am just so excited!!! I'll feel so much more at peace once we have him sealed to us.

December calm...

Somehow so far this December we haven't been too busy. Usually we have so many different activities going on that we are always busy. Somehow this year is different. I kinda like not having to run around and be so many places especially with a baby in tow. Which is another thing that I've been worrying about. I have been keeping Liam home from church because most people don't think twice about going to church when they have a cold and I'm sure that church buildings are a breeding ground for germs in the winter. It's funny that I'm being so careful--I don't remember being this careful with the twins, but by the time they were Liam's age it was starting to warm up and spring was on its way. I'm sure some people will think that I'm being overly protective, but I'd rather that than have him end up in the hospital with RSV or pneumonia or something like that. Now, if I can just keep the twins healthy... Any of you with babies want to tell me how long you are careful with taking them to church etc??

Happy holidays

I had this clip in my hair and took it out. I wondered since everyone is always telling me how long his hair is if it would stay in. I got such a laugh out of it that I had to take a picture and share.





Christmas preparations are in full swing now. I have all of the cousins done, most of my kids' stuff done and dh is done too. I just have to do my Mom, dh's parents, bil, sil, and stocking stuff. We are trying to keep things more low key this year since I always "go overboard" according to dh. Can I help it that I just love to buy gifts for people?? It's just so much fun to find something that you just know they are going to love and then to see the look on their face when they open it. I just LOVE Christmas!! This weekend we are taking the kids to buy presents for each other and that's so much fun for me. I love seeing them thinking about one another instead of thinking of what they want. So many fun traditions!

I just love traditions and want to incorporate them into more of the year than just Christmas. So, to start me out tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is and if you have a tradition that isn't linked to Christmas share that one too!!
